Get our a magnifying glass and look in the seams really close. That is where they tend to hand out. Step in the middle of them and they will attack. It was a real problem for me when I first moved into my new house. My kids could not play in the yard. I tried a lot of the do-it-yourself solutions and they did not really work. Then had a friend recommend a good exterminator and no more fire ants.
